Construction Claims Consultant
The Construction Claims Consultant is responsible for analyzing construction documents and evaluating the performance of construction parties; identifying liability, quantifying damages, and assisting in resolving disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction or associated field
- 4+ years’ experience in construction claims and claims avoidance
- Proficiency in construction claims preparation, analysis and negotiation
- Strong understanding of quantification and qualification of damages
- Detailed knowledge of construction project cost records and cost management principles
- In depth knowledge of schedule delay analysis and labor productivity studies and analysis
- Extensive knowledge in CPM scheduling; preparing and analyzing schedules for contractors and owners (i.e. Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project)
- Experience and understanding of construction project management and project controls
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) construction
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral
- Ability to complete Government security clearance
- US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- AACEi/PMI certifications
- Experience in construction defect and forensic defect evaluations
- Experience with contract risk analysis, change order management, and risk assessment and management
- Experience in mediation, arbitration, other dispute resolution forum and litigation support as a consultant or testifying expert for issues involving project management, project controls, damages analysis and quantification, scheduling and sequencing, acceleration, labor productivity analysis, and construction defects
- Experience with process flow development (requirements, design, stakeholder impacts, etc.)
